Immigrant community members in California have the right to access a broad range of confidential sexual and reproductive health services. Recent immigration policy changes have raised fear and anxiety among immigrant communities, leading many patients to stop obtaining critical health services. Proposed cuts and changes to health care and public health programs are also threatening the sustainability of the reproductive health care safety-net. The inability to access family planning services can lead to negative health outcomes, including increased risk for unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases.
This on-demand webinar reviews reproductive health rights and coverage options available for immigrant community members in California and share current threats to the reproductive health care safety-net. Webinar participants will also hear from immigration and health center experts on how to protect access to health care for immigrant patient populations and create safe spaces for vulnerable and at-risk clients.
